Current Perth temperature 26 degrees (Oct 15th 2009)

Really not quite hot enough for baking in my solar oven but certainly hot enough for the SO to kill any weed seeds :) (I hope!)

This is my latest experiment; bung the grassy weeds (seeds and all) into the solar oven for an hour so that I can pop them into my compost bin without worrying about sprouting grass seeds next season.

Will pop the before and after pics up when DD gets home.

and now, while the weeds are cooking, here's a picture of my latest rye bread from the artisan bread in five minutes book

Hi Gorgeous One

What a great idea with the weeds! Do you think an hour will be long enough to kill them? What temperature does the oven get to at the moment?

That bread looks absolutely divine! Very impressive and very mouth-watering. xx

NW I went out into the garden to check on the weeds and there was a decidedly ’smokin’ weed’ smell LOL! Yep, totally frazzled!

If it is doing that to weeds in an hour.. pretty sure it will cook a meal.

Kind Regards
