Still here, a little less driven and a little less 'sparkly' (Sept 18th 2009)

Along the lattice we moved from the front

Gifts from friends: Berries

Lemongrass is well, grass!

Seriously need to get another of these garden beds!

From the other end

Ohhh and how about a recipe!

Yummy Kale

Cook your bunch of kale in boiling water for about five minutes. Drain well and roll up tightly so that you can shred it (think julienne vegetables). Finely dice an onion and two cloves of garlic and cook in olive oil until golden. Bung in your shredded kale and either slivered almonds or pine nuts (depending on your budget). Sprinkle with spanish spice mix and stir fry until the nuts start to turn a pale toasted colour. Sprinkle with the juice of half a lemon. No photo of this atm as I ate it all :)

Heya Lara. We’re looking at those beds as well… I was considering making them about 12mths ago and lo and behold they hit the market LOL Considering the cost in terms of replacing the ‘walls’ of our strawbale bed, I think they’d work out very economical over a couple of seasons.

Warm hugs and green thumbs from all of us
