These days it takes a certain something to make me stop and read a new blog (Feb 1 2009)

When you've been around the blog (scene) a few times you kind of get jaded; for me to want to spend some time reading and connecting with the writer I want to find a certain spark to rekindle my own simmering thoughts. It's even better when I find a blog which really lights my fireworks.

Yesterday I discovered an Australian blog and an American one.

The Australian one is Happy Earth they are doing all of the things that I want to do. Serious lifestyle envy here at Wit's End. The writers show you step by step how to achieve food forests and urban homesteading.

The American one is Joy the Baker She hooked me immediately with her statement that she cooks from scratch. Joy had me salivating with her recipes and photos (wish I could take photos like that!). She had me rolling around laughing, with her "This ice cream is proof that God loves us."

I am enjoying both sites and hope you do as well.

ps: I am actually doing more than surfing today, bread is a baking in the solar oven, more bread is rising on the benchtop, washing to be put on the line and general post weekend pig pen to be cleaned ;)

Yes, I suffer from serious food-forest envy when I catch up with Rich and Ally’s blog! Thanks for the cooking link though - I think?! I feel like I’m gaining weight just looking at the pics

Oooh, love the Happy Earth one. How long does the bread take in the oven? And have you perfected the latte mix yet? (I’m working on a vanilla latte one - i think vanilla sugar is the key…)

Good Evening Miz Crone,

I have tried to email you several times now and had no response …could be to over-sensitive anti-junk at gmail or the fact that you are too bleedin’ busy to answer any-one. Point is I’d like to chat and email as you have tons to teach me and possibly an awd Nana like me could give you tips. Would you mind trying emailing me at coffeee2001@hotmail and we’ll see if that works?

Thank you Dear,
Sue

I love finding a new blog. I find myself occationally going through my RSS reader and deleting old ones as I find new ones that I love more. Thanks for the suggestions. I’m always on the lookout for great new blogs!
